$6 Suggested Donation
100% of the door charge goes to compensate Beezy Douglas for his time setting up and hosting (5-6 hours), and the gear he makes available to performers.
If you’re a performer and can’t afford the honorarium, no problem, but under a buck a minute is pretty reasonable considering set-up and breakdown time, carting all the equipment and instruments and all the amenities provided. Not to mention the priceless opportunity to show off or workshop your craft before a live audience that is respectful and attentive in a nurturing performing space like the Wizbang Theater.
And what’s a Showcase without an audience? So if you’re an audience member and can’t afford it, no problem, but $1.25/hr for a live show is a deal you’ll be hard pressed to find anywhere in town.
FAQs
How do I sign up & How Much time do I get?
Performers are randomly called for sign up at 7:50pm. You may be called first, but can sign up to perform last. Conversely, you may be called last, but forced to take the first slot if that’s all that is available.
12 Minutes + 1 additional minute for every audience
member you bring along to the show. (15 minutes max)
What’s the vibe?
This is a listening space where performers are expected to witness and support each other. Artists come for the stage time, but stay for the community and camaraderie.
